The latest Seitei Jodo class under Nidan Andy Wells (soon, we are sure, will earn his sandan) at the Midlands School of Martial Arts. We had seven students along with Wells sensei Monday night, Sept. 21, working kihons 1-4 and 7 (out of 12) of the system along with the first two-person kata of the system as well (out of 12). We trained for about 90 minutes before Wells sensei finished by working with Charlotte Bryant and Rick Scoppe as the pair prepared for their ikkyu test on Saturday in Cincinnati during the yearly seminar hosted by the Kosho School of Karate under sensei Nate England. Our local school, Kashikan Jodo, has 12 students overall (which is probably one of the bigger schools in the nation), but there’s always room for more.
