Jo Training Continues

We had another great night of jo training Monday night (7-9 pm) at our dojo under nidan Andy Wells. We had eight students – including two new students – training several of the Seitei Jodo system’s 12 kihon along with the first kata (Ippon me Tsukizue) that, as with all 12 of the system’s kata, features both the jo (a four-foot staff) and tachi (or bokuto or, for some, bokken that is about 10 inches shorter than the jo). Sensei Wells’ dojo, Kashikan Jodo, is housed at our school, Midlands School of Martial Arts. We train every other Monday night starting at 7 p.m. Your first class is free. After that, it is $20 a month. If interested, email Wells sensei at kashikanjodo@gmail or just show up at our next class, which is Sept. 7 (Labor Day).
