The Midlands School of Martial Arts completed its second Seitei Jodo seminar of the year Sunday – this time a two-day affair at the Columbia Martial Arts and Fitness school, and a tip of the hat to Sifu Mark Mills, who runs the school with his wife, for allowing us to use their school. We had a small but dedicated group of jo enthusiasts who came to train with Atlanta yondan Adam Sandor as well as, on Sunday, nidan Andy Wells of Columbia. We worked 8 of the system’s 12 kihons as well as the first three (of 12) kata that features the jo against the tachi. Great work by all – and much learning took place.
