We’d like to welcome two new students, Karis and Sam Johnson, who are in their second month at the school and moving right along in their training. Sam trained in Shuri Ryu under Sensei Becky Harris, who, like the staff at our school, was a student of Hanshi Ridgely Abele. Sam earned his black belt during his training and is back at it now, and we love having him join us. His wife, Karis, has an equally strong pedigree, having trained for almost a decade in the Filipino family martial system of (Garimot Arnis) under Rick White, who was the first Ninong (elder) in South Carolina and a direct student of the current head of Garimot Arnis (Gat Puno Abon). She is doing an excellent job and should be testing for her yellow belt next month (no presssure!).
